Thoughtful haircare, real results

Evidence matters

Much of what shapes my approach to haircare comes from my own path—years of hands‑on experience, study, and a simple question that guides nearly everything I do: what does the data tell us?

It’s easy to get distracted by what’s trending or what looks beautiful in a short video. But when you work with hair every day, you quickly see what actually performs, what’s safe, and what truly lasts. Clients trust me with their hair, so I choose products based on evidence rather than assumption. That same care is what I hope to pass on to you: the ability to choose well, to look beyond the noise, and to feel confident in what you use. (Link to “Meet Adrian” bio to follow.)

Modern professional haircare has moved beyond coating the hair’s surface to treating its internal structure. Over the years, I’ve worked with three remarkable brands that represent this evolution: Davines, Olaplex, and Milbon.

Milbon

Today, my focus leans toward Milbon—not because it is new or trending, but because it works. The Japanese approach to craft and precision, seen in everything from high‑end shears to combs and brushes, is measured, meticulous, and purposeful. Milbon’s SSVR‑Silk™ technology repairs tiny structural voids inside damaged hair, resulting in strength and gloss that last. Treatments reliably perform for about five weeks, supported by a take‑home booster set, and are priced so that high performance stays within reach.

Olaplex

Olaplex changed the industry with bond‑building technology that repairs chemical and mechanical damage at a molecular level. It remains one of the most rigorously validated systems in salon care and continues to earn its place in my toolkit.

Davines

Davines, which I first embraced more than twenty‑five years ago through Sassoon educators, continues to pair craftsmanship with conscience. Their commitment to sustainability has always mattered to me—and their Oi Soufflé Leave‑In has become a quiet favorite: one balanced, reliable product that simply works.

Together, these choices reflect more than a product lineup. They express a belief that care should be guided by evidence, respect, and genuine value—not hype.

What about keratin treatments?

Brazilian-style keratin smoothing exploded in the late 2000s, and the industry’s wake‑up call around formaldehyde exposure led to tighter scrutiny of ingredients and safety, pushing brands to innovate beyond harsh straightening chemistry toward genuine repair technologies instead of mere surface smoothing.

Newer, safer keratin treatments still have an important place in our salon. Increasingly, though, there are more options for controlling frizz and making hair more smooth and manageable and they don’t require the expense or time investment. Some of my keratin clients have found that an Anti-Frizz treatment from Milbon to fit their needs better. Each of us at Ae Salon will have different preferences for what works for their clients. Your stylist can answer questions and help you make the best choice for your hair and your budget.

Olaplex

To repair damage, Olaplex does a fantastic job because it addresses and repairs damage at the chemical level. Adrian has replaced more traditional "hair repair" treatments with this far superior one.

Davines Hair Products

To add moisture to dry and damaged hair, the Davines Replumping products deliver intense moisture for your hair to drink in. Also offered is an in-salon Replumping treatment and the at-home Hair Filler Superactive products.

Keratin Complex

To smooth curls, Keratin Complex Same Day Smoothing is an excellent treatment to help reduce the curl in hair, making it faster and easier to style for several weeks after treatment.
