Build better hair with every visit

Our mission is to help you love your hair not just on salon day, but over time—by improving its health, style, color, texture, and manageability with every visit.

What we look for: shine, movement, and strength that hold up in everyday life.

Our “love your hair” philosophy has two parts: hair design and hair care. This page focuses on care—how we choose services and products that support your hair’s real condition, not just its finish on salon day.

Our care philosophy is simple: we look at how your hair responds over multiple appointments—its strength, softness, and manageability—and keep only the approaches that reliably make it better to live with, not just nicer to look at once.

Beyond surface care

Modern professional haircare has moved beyond coating the hair’s surface to treating its internal structure. We work with Milbon and Olaplex because their systems are designed to strengthen from within, protect against ongoing stress, and support lasting condition. Davines brings a complementary approach: highly researched, botanically‑forward formulas with a strong focus on softness, shine, and sensorial feel, created by a family‑owned, certified carbon‑neutral company. Together, they give us options—more structural repair when needed, more gentle nourishment when that’s the priority.

Before recommending anything, we look at hair history, texture, and lifestyle, then choose in‑salon treatments and at‑home care that support your hair’s internal health so cut, color, and styling stay beautiful for longer between visits. We pay close attention to how hair responds over time and adjust products when something isn’t the right fit—for us, performance and long‑term hair and scalp health always come before hype or habit.

Scalp care

Our approach to scalp care avoids chasing trends or “miracle” claims, and stands behind scalp and hair‑loss products with credible evidence—especially for thinning and shedding. What we offer is support around proven medical options (like minoxidil and finasteride prescribed by your doctor), and evidence‑backed scalp treatments such as zinc pyrithione and ketoconazole shampoos for significant dandruff and scalp inflammation, along with complementary scalp therapies, gentle cleansers, and density‑friendly styling that fit within that evidence‑minded approach. If a recommended product is not available in the salon, we can recommend options from our online store so you can still follow a consistent, science‑aware routine.

A shared philosophy, individual techniques

At Ae Salon, every stylist and colorist brings their own specialties and preferred techniques to the chair. What unites us is a common foundation for care and retail—Milbon, Davines, and Olaplex for cleansing, conditioning, treatment, and styling—so the underlying philosophy stays consistent, even as the artistry feels personal to you.

For color and specialty chemical services, each stylist chooses the professional lines and methods that best support their craft and clientele, while holding to the same standard: thoughtful formulation, respect for the hair’s integrity, and results that feel wearable and true to each person.

From the salon to home

Care doesn’t end in the salon; the way you cleanse, condition, and protect your hair at home has as much impact on long‑term health as what we do in the chair. We take time to recommend home care that aligns with your in‑salon treatments, so you can maintain strength, shine, and color clarity between visits.

Ten minutes now, weeks of better hair

In‑salon treatments at Ae Salon are designed to repair damage, reinforce strength, and protect your hair from ongoing stress, so your cut and color look better and last longer. These services work on the internal structure of the hair—not just the surface—helping you move from “making do” with your hair to genuinely enjoying it day to day.

We start by looking at your hair’s history, texture, and current condition, then recommend a treatment or combination of treatments that support both your immediate goals and long‑term health.

Milbon 5‑Week Treatment Series (SSVR‑Silk technology)

Milbon’s professional treatment system targets damage inside the hair using patented SSVR‑Silk technology—a silk‑based molecule small enough to penetrate the cortex and fill tiny hollow areas (“stick‑shaped voids”) created by color, heat, and environmental stress. By increasing density inside the hair, SSVR‑Silk helps restore elasticity, bounce, and reflection, so hair bends instead of breaking and looks smoother without a heavy coating.

Within that technology, we select from four series based on what your hair needs most:

  • Smooth

For hair with textural concerns that feels tangled, wiry, or rough to the touch, typically with low to medium damage. Smooth treatments refine the surface, soften the feel, and help hair fall more smoothly so it’s easier to detangle and style.

  • Moisture

For dull, dry, or porous hair that looks tired and feels thirsty, often after color or frequent heat styling. Moisture treatments focus on hydration and color vibrancy, restoring softness and shine while helping hair hold onto moisture between visits.

  • Repair

For hair that has been pushed too far—over‑processed lengths, excessive bleaching, or noticeable breakage and brittleness. Repair targets high damage, reinforcing internal structure so hair feels stronger, more resilient, and less prone to snapping.

  • Anti‑Frizz

For frizz‑prone hair (often wavy or curly) that needs humidity control, refined texture, or more defined wave and curl, usually with low overall damage. Anti‑Frizz helps reduce puffiness, smooth the cuticle, and support a more polished, controlled finish without flattening the hair. Even though it doesn’t flatten the hair, it also can help make difficult to manage hair feel more compact.

Milbon 5‑Week Treatment Series: targeted in‑salon care plus weekly boosters to keep results going at home

How the Milbon series works

Milbon treatments are designed to be both efficient and long‑lasting. The in‑salon portion takes about 10–15 minutes, and each service includes a take‑home set of five weekly boosters. Starting one week after your appointment, you simply replace your usual conditioner with a booster once a week, helping to extend your results for up to five weeks.

Bond building (Olaplex)

Bond‑building treatments focus on the internal disulfide bonds that give hair its strength, elasticity, and shape. Chemical services, heat, and daily wear break some of these bonds over time, leaving hair weaker, rougher, and more prone to breakage.[labmuffin +1]

Olaplex’s bond‑building technology works on a molecular level to help reconnect broken disulfide bonds and reinforce the hair’s foundational structure. Where Milbon’s SSVR‑Silk fills internal voids and improves overall integrity, Olaplex works on the bonds themselves—so the two approaches are complementary. In many cases, we can use them together in a single treatment service for layered support: strengthening bonds while improving density, feel, and manageability.

Keratin smoothing treatments

Keratin smoothing treatments are designed to address frizz, add smoothness, and significantly relax curl and wave for an extended period of time—often several months. They work primarily on the surface of the hair by sealing and smoothing the cuticle, which leaves hair glossier, more polished, and much easier to blow‑dry and style.

This technology predates newer systems like Milbon’s SSVR‑Silk and modern bond‑builders, but it remains a useful and powerful option for guests who want a noticeable change in manageability and day‑to‑day styling time. Keratin services are more time‑intensive and represent a higher investment, which is why they are booked as separate, longer appointments. Different stylists at Ae Salon work with different professional keratin systems; your stylist can explain which option they use, what to expect, and how it compares to other types of smoothing and treatment services.

How treatments support your services

Treatments are most effective when they complement the rest of your service. We may recommend a strengthening treatment before or after a lightening service, a smoothing treatment to enhance a fresh cut, or a moisturizing regimen to keep color looking clear and reflective between visits.

Not every guest needs a treatment with every visit, but when hair is showing signs of stress—snapping, dullness, roughness to the touch—an in‑salon treatment can be the difference between “just okay” results and hair that really shines.

Continue the care at home

In‑salon treatments are most powerful when paired with the right home care. After your service, your stylist can suggest a simple at‑home routine to help maintain strength, shine, and softness between visits.

Care doesn’t end in the salon

What happens at home has as much impact on your hair’s health as what happens in the chair. The shampoos, conditioners, and treatments you reach for day‑to‑day either support the work we’ve done together—or slowly undo it over time.

Shown here: a Milbon smoothing home‑care routine, designed to extend your in‑salon results at home.

At Ae Salon, we recommend home care that aligns with your in‑salon services, hair type, and lifestyle, so you can maintain strength, shine, and color clarity between visits without needing a complicated routine.

Why professional home care matters

Professional care lines are formulated to work with the hair’s internal structure and color, not just sit on the surface and smell nice. They’re more concentrated, more targeted, and designed to support the same kinds of technologies used in modern treatments and color.

That doesn’t mean you need every product on the shelf. The goal is a curated routine that does the most with the fewest steps you’ll actually use: the right cleanser, the right conditioner or mask, and the right leave‑in or styling support for your hair.

Our core home‑care ranges

Across the Ae Salon collective, we work with Milbon, Davines, and Olaplex for cleansing, conditioning, treatment, and styling. Each line brings something different to the table; your stylist may suggest a mix based on your hair and services.

Milbon – targeted systems designed to support internal structure, smoothness, and shine, especially after in‑salon Milbon treatments.

Davines – high‑performance formulations with a focus on sensorial experience and more sustainable choices.

Olaplex – bond‑building support to help maintain internal strength and reduce breakage, especially on hair that’s lightened or heat‑styled frequently.

Your stylist can explain why a particular product is being recommended, how to use it, and what kind of change you can realistically expect to see.

From short crops to longer lengths, the right styling products turn a cut into a finished look.

Keeping things realistic

The best home‑care routine is the one you’ll actually follow. During your appointment, we’ll ask about how often you wash your hair, how much time you like to spend on it, and what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past.

From there, we can suggest one or two meaningful changes instead of sending you home with an entirely new regimen. Sometimes that’s as simple as switching your shampoo and conditioner; sometimes it’s adding a weekly mask or a heat protectant you’ll truly use.
